Chicago Photographer | The Blizzard of 2011

Snowmaggedon, Snowpocalypse, Stormgasm; whatever fanatical name the kids are calling it these days, it was in fact the blizzard of 2011. I was kind of hoping that it didn’t snow at all so all the people at Target stocking up on food and all the people posting the repetitive facebook statuses would be discomfited. But boy was I wrong. Especially when my power went out right after finishing a giant cup of coffee and sitting down to tackle some projects online. I didn’t even know it could thunder and lightening during a snow storm? After drinking bottles of wine and playing multiple games of catch phrase by candle light with my family, I finally fell asleep only to be woken up by more snow on the ground and an abundance of photos of snow on facebook. I’m pretty sure we all know how much it snowed throughout the night and what it indeed looks like. So instead of jumping on the bandwagon of that, I decided just to share my puppy, Harley digging his own path to the other side of the yard to go to the bathroom, (apparently we weren’t shoveling fast enough.) If you have not seen how bad of a snow fall Chicago did get on February 1st or you would like to see some great captures of the storm check out the blizzards gallery.

He is a little daredevil, isn’t he? 20 inches of snow, well over his size is just means for fun.

Stay warm, Chicago!
